Cognos Team Lead

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a BI services delivery team
• Lead the business development efforts for their team
• Act as a point of technical escalation and resolution during the project lifecycle as It relates to technical decisions
• Capture, Analyze and interpret customer's requirements
• Help business users select appropriate BI tools
• Design and manage the BI tools and applications environment
• Participate in and support the design and development phases of client projects
• Support Client Acceptance Testing Process
• Perform Dimensional Modeling and Reporting
• Develop reporting solutions (reports, cubes, scorecards, etc) to meet business requirements
• Develop reporting models using Cognos Framework Manager
• Lead the Resolution of Performance Tuning and Optimization efforts related to System Scalability as users access a Solution and Data Volumes Increase - Flag Risks and provide Feedback to Project Managers

Technical Requirements

• At least 7 years’ experience in practical hands-on Cognos implementation
• Cognos 8 or higher certification would be an asset
• Cognos 10 experience would be an asset
• Experience with Cognos TM1 would be an asset
• Experience developing reporting solutions using Cognos BI tools (Cognos 8 or higher, e.g. Report Studio, Analysis Studio, Metric Studio)
• Knowledge of BI architectures, relational and dimensional data modeling
• Experience developing reporting models using Cognos Framework Manager
• Experience delivering data warehouse solutions including data extraction (ETL), reporting and ad hoc analysis tools
• Experience with database management systems such as MS SQL Server and/or Oracle
• Performing in-depth analytical reviews of certain business processes, independently or within teams of end user staff
• Experience with other BI tools sets (ie. Microsoft SSAS/SSRS/SSIS, Crystal Reports, Web Objects, Hyperion) would be very beneficial
• Experience working in a process centric development environment
• Experience delivering projects in a consulting services firm considered an asset
