Game-changing energy tool among three in Innovation category; winners to be announced at May 3rd gala in Fredericton
FREDERICTON, April 20, 2012 – T4G Limited’s EnCenter – a game-changing tool that can save organizations hundreds of thousands of dollars by helping identify and reduce waste energy – is one of three finalists in the KIRA awards category for private sector technological advancement and innovation.
KIRA, which stands for Knowledge Industry Recognition and Achievement, are awards hosted by Enterprise Fredericton that are open to organizations across New Brunswick. These are the 14th annual KIRA awards.
“We’re delighted by this nomination as it is a reflection of the fact that organizations today recognize that energy is a raw material that needs to be managed efficiently and effectively,” says Mike Carr, T4G’s Managing Director of Energy, and the driving force behind EnCenter.
EnCenter separates itself from standard energy management information systems (EMIS) with its ease of use in not only monitoring consumption but pinpointing waste and predicting future consumption patterns through performance modelling.
EnCenter’s analytical features crunch numbers and find improvement techniques to make energy consumption visible to the end user, not just once like an audit but continuously. EnCenter uses analytics such as linear regression, CUSUM and meter mapping to build performance models of any energy consuming process, regardless of industry or type of facility.
If the actual consumption varies from predicted performance, EnCenter indicates a change in the process and alerts the energy manager, who can then investigate what is causing the change and prevent energy waste from occurring.
Included in KIRA’s Technological Advancement/Innovation (Private sector) category along with T4G are: Atwood Technology Inc. and VINVOX International Corp. Other KIRA categories include: Technological Advancement/Innovation (Public sector); Most Promising Start-Up; Export – Products and Services; and Community Engagement & Industry Commitment.
The 2012 KIRA Awards will be held at the Fredericton Convention Centre on Thursday May 3rd. For ticket information contact Wendy Gallant of Enterprise Fredericton at 506-444-4686.
