Technology-enabled businesses will thrive in a changing world and T4G is there – with a growing presence in Vancouver – to meet challenges and exceed expectations

By Robert Brehl

VANCOUVER, British Columbia –Speaking from his own experience in the Tourism sector “What we’ve seen to date is us getting closer to a significant tipping point,” says Nigel Collett, T4G Limited’s newest Principal Consultant and Vancouver Team Lead.

Prior to joining T4G in June 2011, Nigel was the Chief Information Officer (CIO) based in Vancouver at Tourism British Columbia (TBC), a crown corporation then with a mandate to market the destination to the world. Directly reporting to the CEO, he was responsible for the information technology strategy and its execution. Prior to that, he worked for five years at Terasen Gas (or BC Gas as it was known then), so he is well acquainted with the local technology landscape.

we’ve long been focused on travel and hospitality, and when we made the move to increase our investment and expertise in the sector

The 2010 Winter Olympic Games were the catalyst to boost tourism in the province.  Nigel’s strategy in the years leading up to 2010 was to transform TBC into an advanced online business with a technology platform that would serve the needs of the tourism industry heading into an Olympic Games and beyond.  Nigel was a part of TBC’s transformation as it launched its industry-leading website, HelloBC.com.  T4G was a TBC partner in building this technology infrastructure.

“At T4G, we’ve long been focused on travel and hospitality, and when we made the move to increase our investment and expertise in the sector we were delighted that Nigel was available to join the Vancouver team to complement Richard Kunz on the travel side of the business,” says T4G President Geoff Flood. “T4G has the knowledge and capabilities to give our clients the competitive advantage so urgently needed in this exceedingly fast-changing travel and hospitality sector.”

Nigel says the Vancouver team’s greatest value-add aside from having a tremendous amount of business expertise from across many industries is it’s no nonsense development approach that delivers high quality cost-effective solutions to its clients.

“We can make customers stand out,” he says, “without worrying about large investments in technology, both in upfront costs and in ongoing operating expenses.” Whether you are strategizing about your future use of technology, automating business processes or developing and deploying custom or packaged solutions – T4G has the expertise necessary to get the job done and done right.

Come meet Nigel and the entire Vancouver team at our Social Event on October 20th starting at 4:30 at Coast Restaurant.
