Apperian Inc. and T4G both see a healthy future in the area of mobile enterprise and consumer application development. Apperian’s interest is in building a deployment model and toolkit that will enable their customers to build mobile apps and deploy them with control and ease. T4G is looking to build innovative productivity-improvement applications as well as custom consumer marketing apps: the mobile segment that has gathered the most strength over the past 2-3 years. T4G’s reputation for quality, on-time delivery of innovative solutions is what attracted Apperian. Together, Apperian’s business development and creative team, and T4G’s development, testing and delivery excellence have combined for some great results for customers.
"T4G has a phenomenal work ethic and proven process. Dealing with Pharma and HIPAA issues are tough and building an App that must meet these requirements was a real challenge but T4G's workflow enabled Apperian to deliver on time and under budget"
One example is an app T4G and Apperian partnered on for a digital solutions company who operates within the healthcare industry. Together, they delivered on time and on budget for both the iPhone and the iPad. What’s amazing is that the iPad app was built in only four and a half days to meet the initial launch of the iPad.
The Challenge
The challenge was to create an iPhone app and an iPad app to help users manage vital personal healthcare information. The solution was part of the customer’s vision to create a white label product that could be branded for a particular pharmaceutical and provide each subscriber with:
- health information related to a particular pharmaceutical product
- health-related reminders (medication, appointment, check vitals)
- prescription ordering ability
- a visual health log for managing day-to-day health
The Approach
T4G is a company that enters every project based on a spirit of collaboration. This healthcare mobile application was no different. The project began with only the iPhone app in scope. T4G and Apperian worked closely to ensure that the customer was serviced as if one unified team were delivering the solution. The T4G team was entirely responsible for the project development, quality assurance, project management, change management and deployment of the iPhone application.
The client then approached T4G with an opportunity to build an iPad version of the application. This was to be created and submitted to Apple before the iPad launch a week later. It was an aggressive schedule, but T4G and Apperian designed, developed and delivered the iPad application in only 4.5 days.
The Solution
The key features of both the iPhone and the iPad apps are:
- personal reminders that alert users when to take medication and when to get to a medical appointment
- the power to order and refill prescriptions using the handheld device
- tools to help the users take and track vital personal health information such as blood pressure
- easy-to-use and pertinent health information at the user’s fingertips
- the ability to store and retrieve important contact information for healthcare providers
Both apps were also created to allow users to receive personal reminders over multiple channels like:
- email
- voicemail to landlines or mobile devices
- text messaging
This means, for example, people who are juggling looking after children and aging parents, can use their mobile device to schedule automated phone calls to their parents’ home phone with reminders to take their medication or to see their doctor.
Benefits
The Apperian and T4G team was able to respond quickly to the client request for an iPad app, and delivered a solution which quickly rose to the third most popular iPad application in the medical category. Both the iPhone and iPad application are now live in Apple’s ‘App Store’ and the customer has a white label solution that can be rebranded for any pharmaceutical product.
