Portals & Collaboration Solutions
Knowledge is a tricky thing. It’s core to business, but hard to quantify, valuate, or track. For many companies, the knowledge of their employees walks out the door each and every night. The expertise of peers isn’t indexed anywhere and is tricky to track down.
Intranets and document management systems exist, but they’re relics of last-generation thinking that assume arbitrary hierarchies and inflexible types of information. With user-experience expectations sky-high from well-designed consumer products, legacy systems are a headache that hinders productivity.
So what would the ideal virtual workplace look like? It should be a single place where employees can share, learn, and collaborate. It should be social, but comply with industry regulations and company policies. It should be intuitive, and equally powerful when accessed from a desktop, laptop, tablet, or mobile device. Above all, it should provide all employees with a shared space, from anywhere in the workplace or the world. Does this really sound like the typical intranet?
